How to get into ChatGPT's recommendation list: 5 proven tactics
Why do the same 4-5 brands always appear when you ask an AI for 'the best project management tool'? Because models distill those lists from thousands of 'top 10' articles, review sites and comparison pages. If you want in, you need to be strong in those sources.
1. Get into third-party lists
Find the sites compiling 'best tools' lists in your industry and get your product added. AIs trust independent lists more than your own site.
2. Publish comparison pages
'You vs Competitor' and 'Competitor alternative' pages are exactly what AIs cite for comparison questions. Write one for every major rival.
3. Build strength on review platforms
Complete your G2, Capterra and Trustpilot profiles and collect genuine reviews. Models base sentiment largely on these.
4. Keep your entity consistent
Your brand name, description and category should match exactly across your site, LinkedIn and directories. Inconsistency erodes AI confidence in you.
5. Measure, fix, measure again
GEO is not one-off. Rescan your visibility after every content move; see which tactic moves the score and shift budget accordingly.
