Schema.org and structured data: essential for AIs to 'recognise' you

A human visiting your site sees design, copy and images. An AI bot first looks at your structured data: who owns this site, what does it sell, who is it for? If you don't answer these in machine language, the AI guesses — and often guesses wrong.

Which schemas come first?

Organization: your brand's official identity — name, logo, founding year, social profiles. Product/Service: what you sell, price range, audience. FAQPage: exact answers to the questions customers ask AIs. This trio is the technical foundation of GEO.

Why the FAQ page is critical

When a user's ChatGPT question matches an FAQ item on your site, the model tends to take its answer directly from you. Mirror customer questions word-for-word in your FAQ and mark it up with FAQPage schema.

How to test

Google's Rich Results test validates your schema; a FoundGeo scan shows the outcome: are AIs citing your site? If not, missing structured data is the first place to look.
